Congressman Chris Van Hollen to host Fundraiser for Martin Casas

Congressman Chris Van Hollen, former DCCC Chairman and Senior

Democrat on the House Budget Committee, will headline a Fundraiser for Martin Casas, Candidate for State Representative in Missouri, March 13th at Pi Pizzeria in Washington.

Casas worked on Van Hollen’s first bid for Congress in 2002 in Montgomery County, Maryland. Serving as the Deputy Field Director, Casas and an inspired campaign staff helped organize a monumental field effort to defeat three well funded democratic challengers in the primary and an eight term incumbent. It was widely regarded as the best field campaign ran in 2002, and one of only two races nationwide to defeat a republican incumbent.

“It is an absolute honor to have Congressman Van Hollen host an event for me. Almost ten years after I had the honor to work on his first race, I still consider having worked to elect the Congressman as one of my greatest successes,” Casas said. “It is such an honor to have him host an event for me. The Congressman set a high standard by which I have judged every candidate I have ever worked for, and now I am determined to meet that standard myself.”

The fundraiser will be held from 6-8pm at District of Pi, 910 F Street NW (@9th Street) Washington, DC 20004 on Tuesday March 13th.

Martin Casas is a resident of Tower Grove East and owner of Frontyard Features. He is the former President of the St. Louis Young Democrats and is running in the 79th District of the Missouri State House.
